Dear Diary - just a recurring theme about life and death, especially highlighted at such a place as the beach where there is so much activity and a sense of continuity underlined by the consistency of the waves and the tide and the stretch of the sand and the distance of the horizon and the passage of the sun and the moon against the vastness of the sky…aah - the fish is dead and there's only its head left to testify that it ever was…!…Still, it's funny that the fish appears to be smiling…

Dead Fish - Lorne.

Dear Diary - I've always had a fascination for the ocean, the beach, the sea…not in the surfer, sunbathing way, but more in the life and activity that goes on in and around the ocean. When I was a kid I was seriously going to be a marine biologist for a while there. Like all systems that abound with life there's always the aspect of dead stuff…and while I like the pretty things I also need to be reminded occasionally about my impermanence…thanks, dead fishy…
